Ruby lived her whole life within a stone's throw of Brockwell Park. It's where she learned to walk, to ride a bike and where she spent many hours with her friends as a teenager. When she found out her cancer couldn't be cured, she asked for a bench in the park - a place for family and friends to sit and remember her.
You'll find her bench up by the clocktower (what3words location: shins.game.lucky).
We've also sponsored a tree in her memory; an Indian bean pod tree, which you can find in the field between the lido and the vicarage.
In time it should offer a lovely shady spot for a picnic.
Thanks you to Friends of Brockwell Park for arranging both the bench and the tree.
