Ruby Living Loudly in the House of Commons

Updated: Feb 18, 2022

Ruby died on 15 May 2020, when the pandemic lockdown restrictions were at their strictest. On that day, the Prime Minister and his wife sat in the garden at 10 Downing Street enjoying cheese and wine with colleagues. Just five days more than 100 staff were invited to a party, encouraged to bring their own booze. Such events were unequivocally in breach of the Covid regulations at the time.

Our wonderful MP Helen Hayes shared Ruby's story in the House of Commons on 11 January 2022, when an urgent question was raised about the parties held at the Prime Minister's home in May 2020. The Prime Minister was too cowardly to show his face in the House of Commons to answer questions. So Helen asked the Minister he sent to represent him, what he had to say to Ruby’s family and friends .

It was wonderful to hear Ruby's name & motto being shared in Parliament. Huge thanks to Helen for sharing Ruby's story.

It was somewhat frustrating that the Minister didn't really answer the question...

(Around the same time, Emma gave a number of media interviews - details here.)
